Minutes from the FOP meeting held February 4, 2005 Meeting Called to order at 1930 hrs by President S. Baab. Brother Snyder gave the Police Officer’s Prayer. Pledge of Allegiance by all members led by Brother Phelps. Brother Gardiner made a motion to accept the minutes as taken by Brother Bemis Second by many. No discussion. Motion passed. Treasure’s Report Motion by Brother Poulton to accept the report as read. Second by Brother Fannin. No discussion. Motion passed. Legal/Labor Issues Memorandum of Understanding was prepared and signed by management and Labor. ULP and two grievances filed by Deputy Baab and Deputy Concannon were withdrawn per the Memorandum of Understanding. Brother Bemis and Brother Snyder will be attending "The Rights of Police Officers", April 20-22, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Due to Anthem no longer having a contract with Premier Health Care, Montgomery County has an open enrollment for those wishing to switch to United Health Care. ALL members of the Sheriff’s Office are encouraged to take an FOP representative with them to ALL Special Investigations interview whether you are the focus or a witness. New Business Motion made by Brother Feehan to send (8) eight members to the State FOP Conference on July 16-19, 2005 in Mahoning Valley, Ohio. Three (3) on FOP time for Sheriff’s Office FOP members and five (5) others who would like to attend. The (8) eight who attend will be furnished with lodging and per diem. Second by Brother Bartlett. Little discussion. Motion passed. Motion made by Brother Feehan to send (8) eight to the National FOP Convention on July 31-August 5, 2005 in New Orleans, LA. Four (4) on FOP time for Sheriff’s Office FOP members and four (4) others who would like to attend. The (8) who attend will be furnished with airfare, lodging, and per diem. Little discussion. Motion passed. Motion made by Brother Feehan to send (2) two to the National Police Officer’s Memorial on May 11-15, 2005 in Washington D.C. Brother Feehan nominated President Baab and Chaplain Shively to attend on behalf of FOP Lodge #104 Motion amended to send (4) four with lodging and per diem. Those wishing to attend should send a memo to Vice President Gardiner. A drawing for the remaining (2) two positions will be held to select the attendees at the March meeting. Second by Brother Bergman. Little discussion. Motion passed. The Fish Fry is scheduled for April 1, 2005 at Hara Arena. A Fish-Fry Committee meeting will be held on February 22, 2005 at 1800 hrs at FOP Lodge #104. Anyone wishing to be on this Committee can contact Brother Poulton. Old Business: NONE

Thanks you received from: Jim Scenters Jim Bernard Dave Vore Agnes Keerver Family Charitable Contributions Committee Motion made by Brother Gardiner to donate $500 and send (1) one member with a significant other to attend on behalf of FOP Lodge #104 in Ashtabula, Ohio on February 25-26, 2005. Lodging and per diem to be furnished by the FOP. Second by many. No discussion. Motion passed. Anyone interested in attending, please send memo of interest to Secretary Bemis. Membership Matthew Bowling Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Brother Bemis made a motion to accept the applicant as a member. Second by many. Discussion. No applicants present. Motion passed. Social Committee Texas Hold Em Tournament will be scheduled sometime in the fall of 2005. Fish Fry is coming up April 1, 2005 at Hara Arena. Formal Ball/Awards Ceremony scheduled for September 17, 2005. Halloween Party scheduled for October 29, 2005. Children’s Christmas Party discussed for December 10, 2005. Fraternal Order of Police Associates is to be initiated by Brother Bemis, Melissa Henry, and Martha Quillen. Motion by Brother Giesel to fund the FOPA with $1000 in start up money. Second by Sister Haas. Little discussion. Motion passed.
PAC Committee Taken from the Montgomery County Commission Meeting Agenda. November 9, 2004 04-2206 Embassy switch for the 800mhz Equipment from Motorola for the Sheriff’s Department, at a cost of $399,675.00. November 30, 2004 04-2270 Accept a grant in the amount of $247,805.33 for the combined agencies unit under the Anti-Drug Act. 04-2292 (Auth. Agreements) City of Trotwood for the Kon-Tiki Theatre Demolition Project, in the amount of $155,000.00. Building Committee NONE For the Good of the Order February 5-6, 2005, Don Perkins has agreed to teach the mandatory class for the C.C.W. permits. The class will cost $60.00 per person for members and family members of Lodge #104. Chris JanAntonio updated the membership on the status of the class. Brother Poulton advised that an Attendance Raffle would be started for Lodge #104. Rules and explanation are posted in the Lodge on the bulletin board.
