Minutes from the FOP meeting held November 1, 2005 Meeting Called to order at 1930 hrs by Acting President Gardiner. Brother M. Snyder gave the opening prayer. Secretary’s Report: Motion by Brother Bemis to accept the report as posted on the web site. Second by Brother Keechle No discussion. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report: Motion by Brother Poulton to accept the report as read. Second by many. No discussion. Motion passed.
Legal/Labor Issues: Members are not asking for representation in a timely manner. Whether you are a focus or just a witness, please ask for and take representation. One misunderstood answer could result in you becoming a focus! · There’s an upcoming Arbitration on December 1, 2005 for Brother H. Thornton.
New Business: President Gardiner proposed a formal change of the Constitution of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #104 to read as follows: SECOND READING
ARTICLE XV
DUES: Section I The dues of this Lodge shall be set by a vote of the membership and shall be payable on or before the November meeting of each calendar year. Section II The dues for an active social member of this Lodge are fifty-two (52)seventy-five (75) dollars per year. Section III All funds remaining from dues, after payment of State and National per capita tax and payment to the State Legislative fund, as well as net income from other sources, except the building, scholarship and PAC funds, shall go into the general fund of the Lodge. President Gardiner explained to the membership that we have not had a due increase since the late 1980’s. This increase will bring us up comparable with other FOP’s and as it comes on the heels of a near double per capita per member increase by the State lodge.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Charitable Contributions Committee: Brother Feehan made a motion to donate $500 to Jon Moeggenberg to help sponsor a marathon run for a charity benefit. Brother M. Snyder made a motion to donate $250 to Deputy Ryan Curtis, Greene County Sheriff’s Office, off on a life threatening ailment. Second by Brother Price No discussion. Motion passed.
Membership Committee: Applications received from: Douglas Reed Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office David McIntosh Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office James McDaniel Centerville Police Department Brother Bemis made a motion to accept these applicants as a member of this Lodge. Second by Sister M. Haas No discussion. Motion passed.
Social Committee:
Children’s Christmas Party: Scheduled for Saturday December 10, 2005. Anyone wishing to assist in decorating on December 9, 2005 from 1300-finished is welcomed. Lunch will be provided.
PAC Committee: We need fundraising ideas. Send ideas to Brother Bemis at D7.
Building Committee: Brother Zurn advised that we are in need of a stove in the worse way. Brother Statzer advised that he would check with a contact about a stove and report back his findings.
For the Good of the Order: The Informer will only be posted on the member’s section of the website. Anyone wishing a hard copy mailed to them is asked to contact Brother Bemis A.S.A.P.
