Minutes from the FOP meeting held January 3, 2006 Meeting Called to order at 1930 hrs by Brother Gardiner. Brother Snyder gave the opening prayer. Pledge of Allegiance by all members, led by Brother Bergman. Swearing in of newly elected Officers by Mark Drum. Second by many to accept, leaving one vacant Trustee’s position.
Secretary’s Report Motion by Sister Haas to accept the December minutes as printed on the webpage. Second by Brother Gillis. No discussion. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report Motion by Brother Poulton to accept as read. Second by Sister L. Gardiner. No discussion. Motion passed.
Legal/Labor Issues Members are not asking for representation in a timely manner. Whether you are a focus or just a witness, please ask for and take representation. One misunderstood answer could result in you becoming the focus of an investigation. There are currently several pending grievances. Brother Thornton’s arbitration was held last month. Sister Hewitt’s Arbitration will be held on January 20, 2006. Brother Suman’s Arbitration will be held on February 7, 2006. Brother Meyer has not received an Arbitration date as of yet. Brother Dep.'s Dugan and Blackwell are currently on hold pending the outcome of criminal aspect of case. E-mail any questions and concerns to Brother Gardiner.
New Business During the December Election for President, two members were turned away at the polls due to clerical errors. As a result, this incident was taken to the State Lodge for recommendations on how to resolve the issue. Board recommended that the votes of those members were to be counted, one member voted and one abstained, resulting in a tie vote. In accordance to the Constitution and By-laws the tie came to a lot and was decided on by a coin toss. Brother Concannon succeeded as the new President. Per the by-laws, the votes are to be destroyed. Motion made by Brother Keechle to purchase a new flag for the hall. Second by many. Discussion. Motion passed.
Old Business: Brother Keechle opened discussion about the convection oven still needing repaired. Brother Keechle reported that it would cost $50 for the oven to be checked and an estimate to be made for repair. Brother Statzer reported that he went to Rex and inquired on the cost of a new oven. Cost would be $259.00, however the oven was not a convection oven. Motion made by Brother Fox to spend the $50 to have the oven checked. Second by Brother Bergman. Discussion. Motion passed.
Chaplain’s Report Motion by Brother Concannon to table the Chaplain’s report due to Brother Ridgeway’s absbence. Second by Brother Campbell. No Discussion. Motion passed.
Charitable Contributions Committe NONE
Social Committee Children’s Christmas Party, held Saturday, December 10, 2005, was a great success. We received many letters and “thank you’s” from people commenting on how well the party was conducted. Brother Ridgeway and all others involved did an excellent job with the food preparation, while Sister Haas and Brother Snyder decorated the Hall. Almost everyone commented favorably on the gifts and how delighted their children were with what they received. A good time was had by all. Special thanks to all those who chipped in to make this year’s party more successful than we ever anticipated. The Lodge #104 2006 Fish Fry will be held on Friday April 7, 2006. Brother Poulton reported that due to some recent personal illnesses, he will not be able to do the majority of the Fish Fry planning. Brother Poulton asked that anyone who can help out to please do so. See Brother Poulton if you would like to volunteer. Discussion was opened by Brother Statzer about the possibility of re-appropriating some of the Fish Fry profits for other purposes after the scholarship amounts were distributed.

Membership Committee Sister Haas reported that all the Membership renewals have been mailed. Applications received from:

Building Committee NONE
For the Good of the Order The F.O.P./O.L.C. Winter Board meeting will be held on January 28, 2006 as the Holiday Inn in Mansfield Ohio. Motion by Brother Gardiner to send 5 delegates. Second by Brother Concannon. No Discussion. Motion passed. Those wishing to attend this meeting should send a memo of interest to Brother Gardiner. On February 9, 10, 11 Nashville, TN will be hosting a Leadership school. Motion made by Brother Gardiner to send 5 delegates. Second by Brother Snyder. Discussion to also send a labor representative. Motion passed. Brother Statzer advised that the lodge may want to look into getting a new TV. We will be getting numerous different sizes and prices for the lodge to vote on at a future date. Motion was made by Brother Fox to look into the cost of a new TV for the lodge. Second by Sister Gardiner. Discussion. Motion passed.
