Secretary’s Report Motion by Sister Haas to accept the June minutes as printed on the webpage. Second by many. No discussion. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report NONE
Legal/Labor Issues We lost Sister Hewitt’s Arbitration. The report that we received was initially incomplete, but we have since received the arbitrator’s report. The report basically stated that the Arbitrator agreed that we had a right to file, but disagreed with our position that she was off probation. As most of you all may know, Brother Blackwell was acquitted. Administration gave Brother Blackwell an offer that he rejected so his arbitration was scheduled for June 15th. We are still waiting on those results. The O.L.C. has been attempting to contact management regarding their position on light duty as it pertains to pregnant female employees (and the administration not “having to” give light duty to a pregnant female employee). Two bargaining members are currently pregnant, and there is a Supreme Court ruling (in our favor) on this issue. Management and their attorney have since filed a complaint with the O.L.C. against Mark Drum. More to follow.
New Business NONE
Old Business: The Annual Ohio F.O.P. State Conference is being held in Dayton this year. We are currently signed up to man the Monday and Tuesday morning breakfasts. Volunteers may get their t-shirts from Sister Haas. Special thanks to Brother Barnes and Brother J. Campbell for volunteering to help out at the Conference!!
Chaplain’s Report Brother Ridgeway made a motion to accept report as read. Second by Sister Gardiner. No Discussion Motion passed. As always, please keep your fellow brothers and sisters in your prayers!
Charitable Contributions Committee It came to our attention that most of the Lodge’s in the 5th District have donated $1000 to assist Dayton Lodge #44 with their State Conference. As of this date no motion has been made by anyone in our Lodge to make a donation. Motion made by Brother Gardiner to donate $1000 Second by Brother Bemis No discussion Motion Passed
Social Committee Brother Statzer reported that Sunday August 6, 2006 is F.O.P. Day for the Cincinnati Reds. Game time is 1:15pm, and it will be the Reds vs. the Braves. We are looking into getting a large bus for a group outing to the game. Brother Statzer reported that he has not had the expected amount of interest for the game and if no other people sign up the outing will have to be cancelled.
PAC Committee NONE
Membership Committee Application received from: Frederick Zollers, M.C.S.O. Michael Becker (Retired) Sister Haas made a motion to accept the applicants as members of this Lodge. Second by Brother Statzer No discussion. Motion passed. For those members who have recently inquired as to whether or not an Emblem is included in the $75.00 Membership fee, the answer is yes. You are entitled to one F.O.P. Emblem when you pay the social fee, however, you must attend one meeting to receive it. Building Committee NONE
For the Good of the Order Brother Bemis is trying to arrange a meeting with Representatives of a new retirement plan that is strongly supported by the State Lodge. The Negotiating Team has been decided. The team will be meeting soon to select their Chief Negotiator. Motion to adjourn by Brother Bemis Second by many. Meeting adjourned.
