Legal/Labor Issues

Once again, we are reminding members:

Members are not asking for representation in a timely manner!! Whether you are a focus or just a witness, please ask for and take representation!! One misunderstood answer could result in YOU becoming a focus!!!

The contract committee is going strong. They have a meeting with the OPBA this week. There is a tentative meeting scheduled with the Administration sometime mid-November.

Brothers Soto, Rolfes, and Wiley have had their pre-disciplinary hearings. There are some procedural issues that will be address and worked out on management’s behalf. More details to follow.

Regarding the pending EEOC Complaints, there is currently no new developments.

November 21, 2006 is the Labor/Management meeting. Bring your issues you want addressed to any Board member!

The Fall Board Meeting was attended by Brothers Concannon and Gardiner. Both passed on pertinent information obtained at the meeting.

 

Chaplain’s Report

Brother Ridgeway made a motion to accept the Chaplain’s Report as read

We have received several ‘Thank You’s’ and Brother Poulton advised that we are still receiving donations in Brother Doug Williams memory.

Congratulations to Brothers Gerald Bemis and Paul Henson on births of baby boys.

Sister Bendinelli, and Brothers Barnes and Miller – recent deaths in the family

Brother Gallagher – father had cancer surgery

Brother Burchfield – recent serious illness.

Breakfast with the Chaplain is scheduled for November 18, 2006 at 0800 hrs.

Charitable Contributions Committee

As previously reported above, Brother Burchfield is suffering from a very serious illness. The Charitable Contributions Committee is looking into assisting his family with purchasing Christmas presents.

Social Committee

Planning for the Annual Children’s Christmas Party is underway. The party will be held at the Lodge Hall on Saturday December 16, 2006 from noon-6pm. Keep watching the Lodge’s website for a downloadable sign up form.

PAC Committee

There was discussion about creating a screening process for candidates before being endorsed by the lodge.

 

Membership Committee

Application received by Gretchen Weir, New Lebanon P.D.

F.O.P. Emblems have been ordered and are in

50 large, 50 small emblems will be $5 each

25 window decals for 2006 are ordered also. They are $2 each.

The large placards are numbered and you will be accountable for any emblem purchased.

 

Building Committee

For the Good of the Order

Dayton Lodge #44’s Annual Ball is being held November 11th.

Lodge #113 – Warren County – is hosting a Christmas Dance on December 9th, 2006. 6:30 to 7:30 is the Buffet, 8p-12a is the dance. Cost is $15 a person. Beer is included.
