Legal/Labor Issues

As most of you all may know, Brother Blackwell was acquitted and his arbitration was won!

The Negotiations Team has met and has distributed surveys.

Two Members have filed complaints with the EEOC and are awaiting mediation. (Re: Pregnancy/light duty)

Labor Management meeting will no longer take place on Sheriff’s Office property and the Sheriff will no longer be attending as long as Mark Drum is present.

  

New Business

The Fall Board Meeting is scheduled for October 13th and 14th.  Delegates that will be attending are Brother Gardiner and Brother Concannon.

Chaplain’s Report

Brother Ridgeway was not present to give a report.  However, Brother Poulton reported that Brother Doug Williams passed away and $500 was received in his memory.

Charitable Contributions Committee

Social Committee 

It’s time to start planning the Annual Children’s Christmas Party!

Motion by Sister Haas to donate $1500 towards the Christmas party, decorations, food, and gifts.

50 large and 50 small emblems… $5 each

25 window decals for 2006 are ordered also.  They are $2 each.

Building Committee

No Report per Brother Statzer.  No appraisals have been done on the lodge.

  

For the Good of the Order

Brother Gardiner reported that there was an interest in creating an Awards Committee for special acts.  All agencies that are members of Lodge #104 would be eligible to nominate people for this award. Any agency that felt they knew of an individual that performed an exemplary, ‘above and beyond’ act would send a report to the Awards Committee.  Final vote will be made by the Lodge. 

Motion by Brother Statzer to create an Awards Committee, headed by Sister Haas
