Legal/Labor Issues

Once again, we are reminding members:

Members are not asking for representation in a timely manner!! Whether you are a focus
or just a witness, please ask for and take representation!! One misunderstood answer
could result in YOU becoming a focus!!!

The Fact-finders report is back and has been voted on and approved on by both Labor and the County Commissioners.

The Sheriff has been served an Unfair Labor Practice on behalf of Deputy Phelp-Powers regarding Union Representation.


Brother Poulton and Brother Gardiner attended the OLC Annual Conference. Brother Poulton reported that the Per Capita dues increase is going to be $.70. There were also several changes to the Constitution and By-Laws.

New Business:


July 11 and 12 is the Law Enforcement Expo in Cleveland OH.

Kathy Harrold was elected for the open position on the Police and Fire Board.


Old Business:


Spring Board meeting was held May 5, 2007 in Huron. Several things were discussed, including the misuse of the FOP Emblem and Marks. Also honored were two West Chester Officers that were shot in the line of duty. Both are recovering and doing well.

The Memorial Service in Dayton was very well-attended and went very well.

The State Conference is July 13-17th, 2007 in Independence, OH.
Motion by Brother Bemis to send 4 delegates.
Second by Brother Bergman.

Brother Concannon and Brother Gardiner will be attending the State Conference, leaving 2 delegates open. Sister Shutts expressed interest in going. Leaving 1 delegate open. Brother Mullenix expressed interest.

The National Conference will be held in Louisville, KY this August. As previously decided, 7 delegates will be attending. Those members are: Brother Concannon, Brother Statzer, Brother Bergman, Brother Gardiner, Sister Gardiner, Sister Geiger, and Brother Walters.

Social Committee

The Lodge has been re-keyed – see Brother Statzer to get a key - $10 deposit required.

Brother Statzer reported that the Party Deck for the Dragon’s Game has been cancelled due to lack of interest.


PAC Committee

Membership Committee

Building Committee

Brother Zurn reported that the Lodge needs a new refrigerator.
Brother Statzer made a motion to spend no more than $700 towards a new fridge.

For the Good of the Order

Brother Concannon reminded all that the July meeting will be held July 10, 2007 due to the Holiday Weekend.

Brother Gardiner reported that the Committee for the Harley-Davidson needs more help going to the events planned to show the bike. Please step up and help the Lodge make the Bike Raffle a success!!

Brother Pete Snyder was present and thanked the Lodge for donating money to his daughter.
