Legal/Labor Issues

Brother Gardiner wanted to remind the membership if they are ever going to be interviewed by ISU, that all members are entitled to a union rep. no matter if they are the focus of an investigation or a witness.

New Business

The Screening Committee met on July 24 and agreed to recommend the Lodge endorse Sheriff Phil Plummer for Montgomery County Sheriff.  The Committee was able to pose some tough questions to both candidates and those questions and answers are available for review.  The membership had the opportunity to vote on this issue as well as others today.

Brother Brady proposed Amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws.  There is only one reading required and then the membership will vote.  The Amendments will be to Article 1 Name and Article 15 Dues.  The Amendment to Article 1 will make the language of the Lodge’s Amendments coincide with the language in the State and Grand Lodges Constitution and By-Laws and to clean up the grammar and wording.  The Amendment to Article 15 will ensure the Lodge is financially sound.

Motion by Brother Zurn to have a show of hands as opposed to a secret ballot vote for the proposed Amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws
