Legal/Labor Issues

Brother Matt Poulton’s grievances are completed with an agreement to combine discipline to a 10-day suspension.

Brother Bergman just recently had his mediation regarding his ULP, with no resolve. This is still pending.

A quick resolution was reached to a grievance filed regarding a Court Sgt. working in place of a deputy.

Brian Crowe’s Arbitration is set for March 10, 2008 at the headquarters building.

The Evaluation Process has recently changed and has included minimal information, compared to past evaluations that were more detailed and offered suggestions for improvement. This will be looked into by management.

The Board also requested that management notify the Board (or at least the President) prior to any major changes that might affect deputies. (Such as shift road patrol to the courts and vice versa).

New Business:

Brother Curtis Laravie was present to accept a $500 Scholarship on his daughter’s behalf.

Brother Bergman reported that the Informer will be suspended for at least one month. The reasoning behind this is for the board to review the current articles put in monthly and whether or not we will continue to include those articles. Brother Bergman also opened it up to the floor for anyone interested in the position of Editor of the Informer, currently held by Brother Bemis. Brother Brady indicated he would be interested in the position.

The Spring Board meeting will be held in Geneva, Ohio on April 11 and 12, 2008.
Sister Gardiner made a motion to send 4 delegates to the meeting.
Second by Brother Poulton
Discussion
Motion passed.

Old Business:

The trustees are still gathering the information necessary to complete an audit of the Treasurer’s books.

Second reading of the proposed changes to the Constitution and By-Laws.

Chaplain’s Report

Sister Geiger reported on Brother Ridgeway’s behalf that due to there being no family present, he placed a bible into Brother Sabolcik’s casket.

Please keep Brother Matt Bowling and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Brother Bowling and his wife had their first child who has had to have several surgeries.

Winners will have to report to Peabody Sports to complete all paperwork legalizing the sale of the guns. More details will be provided at the April monthly meeting. Brother Johnny Campbell will be chairing the fundraiser.
