Legal/Labor Issues Brother Gardiner reported there has been a grievance filed on behalf of one of our Deputies. The Deputy received a one day suspension, then became the focus of a subsequent investigation where he received a three day suspension.
New Business Brother Gardiner advised there has been a lot of talk about the new rotating schedule that went into effect in October. There have been rumors that the new schedule will not hold with the current manpower in place and that we will have to go back to a fixed schedule or come up with a new schedule when we rebid in March. Brother Gardiner reported management has not paid out any overtime because of the new schedule since it went into effect. Brother Gardiner advised management has not brought any concerns to the membership regarding the schedule. There will be a labor management meeting sometime in December, if anyone has any issues they would like brought to management.

Chaplain’s Report Brother Ridgeway reported the Children’s Christmas Party is December 13 from 12p.m to 5 p.m. Brother Ridgeway advised the forms will be handed out soon for the gifts for the membership’s children. Brother Ridgeway stated he would like to get the retirees involved again with the Christmas Party and extend an invitation to them as well. If anyone would like to help with the Christmas Party, please contact Brother Ridgeway. Brother Ridgeway reported Brother Pete Snyder was carjacked while in Boston visiting colleges with his daughter. Brother Snyder sustained minor injuries during the altercation. A balloon bouquet was sent to his home. Brother Ridgeway reported that Brother Tom Scott’s father, George, passed away. The services were held October 31. Brother Ridgeway reported Brother Gray’s grandfather, Clifton, passed away. Services will be held November 5 at Newcomer Funeral Home. Brother Ridgeway reported that Brother Barnes is doing better after being extremely ill. He is now at home after being released early from the hospital. He is still having outpatient testing, but is hoping to be back at work soon. A balloon bouquet was sent to his home. Brother Ridgeway advised Scott Burchfield’s condition is worsening. There will be a party on November 9 at the Lodge. Everyone is welcome to attend and help Scott cheer on the Indianapolis Colts. Building Committee Brother Zurn advised that time has run out to have the parking lot repaired and sealcoated this year due to the decreasing temperatures. Brother Zurn advised Star City would be willing to come just under $4,000. They would be able to fill in the cracks at this time, but would not sealcoat until the temperatures warm up in the springtime. Motion by Brother Zurn to schedule parking lot repair in the spring and not exceed $4000 Second by many Discussion Passed
